Dental Cleanings

Regular dental cleanings are essential for maintaining a healthy smile at every stage of childhood. Our gentle cleanings remove plaque and tartar buildup, helping to prevent cavities, gum disease, and other oral health issues. During each visit, we also check for early signs of dental problems and provide personalized tips to support good brushing and flossing habits at home.

Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF)

Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) is a safe, non-invasive treatment used to stop the progression of tooth decay in children. It works by combining the antibacterial power of silver with the cavity-fighting strength of fluoride, helping to halt cavities without drilling or injections.

SDF is especially helpful for young children, anxious patients, or those who may not be ready for traditional dental procedures. While it can darken the decayed area of the tooth, it provides an effective way to protect teeth, relieve sensitivity, and prevent cavities from spreading—keeping your child’s smile healthy with minimal discomfort.

Nerve Treatments (Pulpotomies)

When cavities reach the inside of a baby tooth, they can cause pain or infection. A pulpotomy gently removes the affected part of the nerve while keeping the rest of the tooth healthy. This treatment helps relieve discomfort, stop infection, and save the tooth until it’s ready to fall out naturally.

After a pulpotomy, the tooth is usually protected with a crown to keep it strong for chewing and smiling.

Tongue-Tie & Lip-Tie Screenings/Consultations

A tongue-tie or lip-tie occurs when the small band of tissue under the tongue or upper lip is too tight, limiting normal movement. This can affect a child’s ability to breastfeed, eat, speak, or even breathe properly.

At Tiny Tooth Pediatric Dentistry, we provide thorough screenings and consultations to evaluate whether a tongue-tie or lip-tie may be impacting your child’s health and development. During the consultation, we carefully assess oral function, discuss any symptoms your child may be experiencing, and guide you through treatment options if needed.

Our goal is to help families understand how ties may be affecting daily life and to provide compassionate, evidence-based solutions that support your child’s comfort, growth, and long-term oral health.

Early Orthodontic Expansion

If a child’s upper jaw is too narrow, it can cause crowding, crossbites, or breathing issues. With a gentle appliance, we guide jaw growth early to create space for permanent teeth and support healthy airway development. Early treatment often makes future orthodontic care easier and helps your child grow with a healthier, more confident smile.

Digital X-Rays (Lowest Radiation Dose Technology)

At Tiny Tooth Pediatric Dentistry, your child’s safety and comfort are our top priority. We use the latest digital X-ray technology, which significantly reduces radiation exposure compared to traditional X-rays—making it one of the safest options available for children.

Digital X-rays allow us to capture highly detailed images of your child’s teeth and jaws quickly and comfortably. These images help us detect cavities, monitor tooth development, and identify any concerns early, ensuring your child receives the best preventive and restorative care. With instant imaging and minimal radiation, digital X-rays provide a safe, efficient, and accurate way to protect your child’s growing smile.

Laser Frenectomies

A frenectomy is a simple procedure that releases a tight frenum (the small fold of tissue under the tongue or upper lip) that may affect a child’s ability to eat, speak, or breastfeed comfortably. At Tiny Tooth Pediatric Dentistry, we use advanced laser technology to perform frenectomies with precision and care.

Laser treatment means the procedure is quick, gentle, and virtually painless—with minimal bleeding, faster healing, and little to no discomfort. By using this modern approach, we ensure your child experiences improved oral function and comfort while reducing the stress often associated with traditional surgery.

Tooth Colored Fillings

When a cavity needs to be treated, we use safe and durable tooth-colored fillings that blend naturally with your child’s smile. Unlike traditional silver fillings, these fillings are made from composite resin, allowing us to restore teeth in a way that looks natural and feels comfortable.

At Tiny Tooth Pediatric Dentistry, our goal is to preserve as much of the healthy tooth as possible while protecting against further decay. Tooth-colored fillings are strong, long-lasting, and provide a seamless appearance—so your child can smile with confidence.

Extractions

Sometimes a tooth may need to be removed if it is too badly damaged by decay, injured, or if it prevents permanent teeth from coming in properly. At Tiny Tooth Pediatric Dentistry, we understand that extractions can sound scary for children and parents, so we make the experience as gentle, safe, and comfortable as possible.

Using modern techniques and child-friendly care, we carefully remove the tooth while keeping your child calm and relaxed. Our team also provides clear aftercare instructions to ensure proper healing and comfort at home. Extractions help protect your child’s overall oral health and make space for healthy, permanent teeth to grow in the right position.

Nitrous Oxide

We understand that visiting the dentist can sometimes make children feel nervous or scared. To help them stay calm and comfortable, Tiny Tooth Pediatric Dentistry offers nitrous oxide, also known as “laughing gas.”

Nitrous oxide is a safe, mild sedative that helps children relax during dental procedures while staying awake and responsive. It works quickly, wears off just as fast, and has no lingering effects—so your child can return to normal activities soon after their visit.

This gentle option makes dental care easier, less stressful, and more positive, helping kids build confidence and comfort at the dentist.

Fluoride Treatments

Fluoride is a natural mineral that helps strengthen tooth enamel and protect against cavities. At Tiny Tooth Pediatric Dentistry, we offer safe and effective fluoride treatments designed specifically for children. These treatments provide an extra layer of protection by making teeth more resistant to decay and helping to repair early signs of weakened enamel.

Quick, painless, and highly effective, fluoride treatments are an important part of maintaining your child’s healthy smile and preventing future dental problems. Combined with regular brushing, flossing, and dental checkups, fluoride gives your child’s teeth the long-lasting strength they need as they grow.

Crowns (Stainless Steel and White/Tooth-Colored)

When a child’s tooth is too damaged by decay or injury for a filling, a dental crown is often the best solution to restore strength and function. At Tiny Tooth Pediatric Dentistry, we offer both stainless steel crowns and white/tooth-colored crowns depending on your child’s needs.

  • Stainless Steel Crowns are durable, long-lasting, and often used on back teeth where strength is most important.

  • White/Tooth-Colored Crowns are a more natural-looking option, blending in with surrounding teeth—making them ideal for front teeth or when appearance is a priority.

Crowns protect the tooth, allow normal chewing, and help maintain space for permanent teeth to grow in properly. Our goal is to provide the best balance of durability, function, and appearance to keep your child’s smile strong and healthy.

Airway, Breathing, Sleep, and Feeding Screenings

A child’s oral health is closely connected to how they breathe, sleep, and even how they feed. At Tiny Tooth Pediatric Dentistry, we offer specialized screenings to identify concerns that may affect your child’s growth, development, and overall well-being.

  • Airway & Breathing: We check for issues such as mouth breathing, snoring, or restricted airflow that may affect dental development and overall health.

  • Sleep: Poor sleep quality can impact behavior, learning, and growth. Our screenings help detect concerns like sleep-disordered breathing.

  • Feeding: For infants and young children, we assess oral structures and habits that may make feeding difficult, such as tongue-tie or improper swallowing patterns.

By identifying these issues early, we can guide families toward the right interventions—helping children breathe better, sleep soundly, and feed comfortably, all while supporting healthy smiles and growth.

In-Office IV Sedation with Pediatric Anesthesiologist

For children who need extensive dental treatment, have high anxiety, or special healthcare needs, IV sedation may be the safest and most comfortable option. At Tiny Tooth Pediatric Dentistry, we partner with a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist who specializes in caring for children.

IV sedation allows your child to sleep peacefully while their dental treatment is completed in a safe, controlled environment. With continuous monitoring of breathing, heart rate, and vital signs, parents can feel confident that their child is receiving the highest level of care.

This option ensures complex treatments can be completed in one visit, minimizing stress for both children and parents while keeping your child safe, comfortable, and cared for at every step.
